DTEK Donetsk Grids has restored power supply to two frontline villages. In Luhanske, the energy workers repaired the line and replaced the pole. Thus, they returned power to the houses of some of the residents of the village. In Taramchuk, the company repaired a transformer and a 0.4 kV line, thus returning power to more than 20 households.

Since this happened in the gray zone, it was required to get additional coordination with the JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination on Ceasefire Issues) and involve representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the OSCE to do the restoration work.

“As soon as the company received all the needed approvals, our energy workers immediately started to restore power supply. We have replaced more than 30 meters of wire cut and broken by splinters, installed a new pole, replaced four insulators and 2 cross-beams in the Luhanske village,” says Oleksii Degtiarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids Director General. “The company also repaired power transformer that was damaged by splinters, as well as the line that was damaged after army actions in 12 spans in Taramchuk. It’s worth noting that this is the second time in the three months we restored the power in Taramchuk because of armed conflict.”

DTEK Donetsk Grids serves the Ukraine’s interests, shares the values of the community, and understands that permanent and uninterrupted power supply is crucial for the residents in the region.

Let us recall that in August DTEK Donetsk Grids returned electricity to 17 front-line villages in Pokrovsky and Volnovakhsky districts that lost power after army actions. In July, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored the operation of the 6 kV line and returned electricity to 68 households in the front-line villages of Travneve and Gladosovo. In June, the company restored the operation of the 10 kV line and to 37 households in the front-line village of Opytnoye. In May, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored the operation of the 35kV overhead line named “Scherbinovka – Podyem-3” damaged after army actions, and returned power to 660 households in of Druzhba and Ozarianovka.
