In September, energy workers cleaned 49,500 square meters of territories near substations, distribution points and company’s offices, while collecting 66 tons of waste. 1,080 employees of DTEK Dnipro Grids joined the activity, which is indicative of the high level of energy workers’ engagement in the company’s environmental initiatives.

“The full-scale war causes heavy damage to the environment, and its consequences will be felt by the eco systems of Ukraine and the entire world for a long time. Daily shelling, destruction of the infrastructure, leakage of oil products and fires are the consequences of lasting rf’s military aggression against Ukraine. As a socially responsible business, we continue to contribute to formation of the culture of cleanliness and protect the environment by participating in the environmental initiatives. Our participation in the World Cleanup Day is a contribution to preservation of the environment even during the full-scale war. Despite all challenges, we repair grids and develop infrastructure, while following the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility,” — noted DTEK Dnipro Grids environmental safety department chief specialist Alla Pavlova.

World Cleanup Day 2024 in Ukraine is organized by the eco movement Let’s Do It Ukraine, which is a part of Let’s Do It World. This initiative unites 90 million people in more than 210 countries around the world for the sake of cleaning our planet from solid waste. Such eco initiatives not only improve the environment, but also increase awareness about the importance of sustainable development.
