Over the past year, DTEK Odesa Grids repaired and reconstructed more than 1,200 power facilities and 1,700 km of power lines, which is 47% and 14% more than in 2023 correspondingly. Thus, they managed to improve reliability of power supply for the residents of the Odesa region during constant enemy attacks and challenges of the heating season.

Power facilities and power lines require constant maintenance. The grids are especially wearing out due to the overload that happens during application of shutdown schedules. In order to prevent possible emergencies and create additional assets for electricity consumption, energy workers of DTEK Odesa Grids repaired almost 1,500 km of power lines of various voltage class and 1,100 high-voltage substations, distribution and transformer points. They also cleared almost 2,100 km of routes under the power lines from shrubs in order to prevent breaking of wires due to bad weather.

Last year, within the framework of the investment program, the company upgraded more than 230 km of power lines and reinforced 112 substations, transformer and distribution points. Thus, they managed to improve quality and reliability of power supply to almost 200,000 families in the Odesa region. Additionally, energy workers installed more than 58,000 smart meters in the customers’ homes. Such appliances automatically submit readings and allow to save 50% on electricity consumption at night due to the separate metering of electricity during the day and night hours. The meters are installed in the districts, included in the automation program.

Modern grids are the foundation for sustainable energy system and uninterrupted power supply. Therefore, even in the wartime conditions, DTEK Odesa Grids continues upgrading and reconstructing old power facilities and building new ones. All thisto make power supply reliable and uninterrupted. In 2024, the Distribution System Operator invested almost UAH 1.3 bln within the framework of repair and investment programs, noted Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO at DTEK Odesa Grids

Energy workers are doing everything possible to support normal life of Ukrainians even in the conditions of constant attacks.
