DTEK energy workers restore service to the liberated areas of the Kyiv region: hospitals in Brovary and Irpin, water utility and bakery in Ivankiv, fire department in Bucha and 101,000 houses
Last week (April 11 through 17), DTEK electricians have restored power to 156 settlements in the Kyiv region. Energy workers inspected lines in these towns and villages on a daily basis and gradually repaired electrical infrastructure. Service was restored to 100,954 houses and to the important infrastructure facilities: hospitals in Brovary and Irpin, water utilities in Bucha, Brovary and Ivankiv, bakery and brickyard in Ivankiv, fire department in Bucha, and gas distribution point in Ploske of the Brovary district.
Last week, the situation in Kyiv region has exacerbated again due to enemy air assaults and missile strikes hitting infrastructure of settlements, thus making emergency crews once again repair grids in towns and villages, where restoration activities have already been conducted.
In particular, on April 17, power was partially restored to Irpin, Makariv, Hostomel, Korolivka, Kalynivka, Liudvynivka and Zabuiannia in the Bucha district, and to Stari Petrivtsi, Havrylivka and Lisovychi in the Vyshhorod district. Energy workers were allowed to restore damaged grids after the Armed Forces of Ukraine forced back the attack of russian invaders and cleared these territories of mines.
Yesterday, DTEK emergency crews have also restored power to more than 22,000 consumers in Brovary, where enemy shelling in the morning of April 17 caused damage to one of the high-voltage substations of the Brovary district. Electricity is still unavailable to another 2,500 households that energy workers plan to energize in the coming days.
DTEK specialists continue restoring power to districts of the Kyiv region that were liberated from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On April 18, DTEK energy workers plan to perform power restoration activities in 35 more settlements of Brovary, Bucha and Vyshhorod districts. It is planned to restore service to all residents of the Kyiv region by June 1.
Energy workers of all DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators rallied to restore everything that was destroyed by the invaders. DTEK energy workers from Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as the city of Kyiv, are helping to restore damaged grids in the Kyiv region. Electricians start their work immediately after mine clearance of these territories by the Ukrainian military and after provision of a permit by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, required to access damaged sites. First, emergency crews restore 110-35 kV high-voltage grids that supply power to the settlements. Then, they repair 10-0.4 kV distribution grids that supply power directly to residential buildings. Additionally, company’s specialists process requests of consumers from towns and villages, where service was completely restored to settlements through 10 kV grids, and started repairing 0.4 kV grids.
Residents of 174 settlements and over 84,000 households in the Kyiv region remain without electricity.
Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 54 days in a row in order to promptly restore power to settlements in Kyiv region, affected by hostilities. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.
