DTEK energy workers restore service to the liberated areas of the Kyiv region: hospital in Irpin, maternity home in Vorzel and 49 settlements
Last week (April 4-10), DTEK electricians restored power to 49 settlements in the Kyiv region. Energy workers inspected lines in these towns and villages on a daily basis and gradually repaired electrical infrastructure. In particular, on April 10, electricians have completely restored service to Komarivka and partially restored it to Makariv, Buzova, Havronschyna, Plakhtianka, Chervona Hirka, Hurovschina and Iasnohorodka in the Bucha district. Service was also partially restored to Bobryk, Bohdanivka, Velyka Dymerka, Haiove, Mykhailivka, Pukhivka, Rudnia, Tarasivka, Trebukhiv, Shevchenkove, Peremoha, Ploske and Hrebelki in the Brovary district. Energy workers were allowed to restore damaged grids after the Armed Forces of Ukraine forced back the attack of russian invaders and cleared these territories of mines.
DTEK electricians have energized equipment of the water utility, restored power to the hospital and city council in Irpin, and restored service to the maternity home in Vorzel.
DTEK specialists continue restoring power to districts of the Kyiv region that were liberated from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On April 11, DTEK energy workers plan to perform power restoration activities in 23 more settlements of Brovary, Bucha and Vyshhorod districts.
Based on the preliminary estimate, about 1600 km of region’s grids were damaged due to hostilities. This number will be defined more precisely, as thorough inspection of grids is ongoing.
Energy workers of all DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators rallied to restore everything that was destroyed by the invaders. DTEK energy workers from Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as the city of Kyiv are helping to restore damaged grids in the Kyiv region. Electricians start their work immediately after mine clearance of these territories by the Ukrainian military and after provision of a permit by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, required to access damaged sites. First, emergency crews restore 110-35 kV high-voltage grids that supply power to the settlements. Then, they repair 10-0.4 kV distribution grids that supply power directly to residential buildings.
Residents of 311 settlements and 114,000 households in Kyiv region remain without electricity.
Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 47 days in a row in order to promptly restore power to settlements in Kyiv region, affected by hostilities. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.
