Alexander Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Odesa Grids, tells when they will stop cutting the power off in Slobodka

DTEK Odesa Grids is renewing the electric networks so that residents of the Slobodka Microdistrict would have a stable and reliable power supply. Alexander Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Odesa Grids announced this during an online meeting within the #SpitayProSvitlo project (#AskAboutPower). By the end of Q2 2021, the company plans to complete the installation of an unloading substation at Nezhdanova Street / General Gudovich. After that the electricity in the Slobodka network will be fully stabilized.

On June 2, the CEO of DTEK Odesa Grids held the first live Facebook broadcast of the #SpitayProSvitlo online meetings, in which experts in the energy industry answer questions from residents. During the meeting, Alexander Fomenko, among other things, explained when power supply is stabilizing in Slobodka.

DTEK strives to become the benchmark for customer focus and implements high-level service standards. Power grids and power facilities need to be renovated and upgraded regularly. To provide Slobodka residents with a reliable power supply in 2020, we replaced bare wire with an aerial bundled cable at three transformer substations (TP107, TP59, TP860 (Krasnoslobodskaya, Slobodskaya, Vladimir Vinnichenko, Gagarina, Griboyedova, Krivobalkovskaya streets) with a total length of 4 km, we also replaced the poles and wires on 6 kV overhead lines,” says Alexander Fomenko.

The DTEK Odesa Grids CEO also mentioned that in 2021 there were outages due to the reconstruction of the 6 kV overhead line, and in March and April, they were replacing the bare wire with an aerial bundled cable on the 0.4 kV overhead line within the Krasnoslobodskaya, and Gordienko street. After the reconstruction, namely after the additional disconnectors were installed, and the poles and the bare wire were replaced, disconnections were cut to the bone.

By the end of Q2 2021, the company plans to complete the installation of an unloading substation at Nezhdanova Street / General Gudovich. After that the electricity in the network at Slobodka will be fully stabilized.

During the live broadcast, Alexander Fomenko also answered questions from residents of the region regarding the call centers, scheduled maintenances, and voltage problems. Full video of #SpitayProSvitlo can be found here.
