DTEK Grids DSO invested UAH 2.3 bln in improving reliability of power supply
DTEK Grids DSO are actively implementing the 2025 repair program, preparing the energy infrastructure of four regions — Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa regions and the city of Kyiv — for the upcoming heating season. Over the first half of the year, energy workers have already completed over 60% of the planned power lines repairs, namely, they repaired 4,370 km of the overhead lines and more than 2,870 cable lines.
Over the first half of the year, energy workers conducted 65% of the planned power facilities repairs. In particular, energy workers of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repaired equipment at more than 3,500 power facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Odesa regions and in the capital.
“During the year, we are systematically preparing the grids for peak loads — both during the hot season, and during the heating season. In particular, over the first half of the year, our energy workers conducted repairs of 634 transformer substations and distribution points, as well as almost 3,000 other power facilities. In the first half of 2025, we invested almost UAH 2.3 bln in new construction, technical upgrade and reconstruction of the grids and energy equipment, UAH 686 mln in introduction and development of commercial electricity metering and nearly UAH 930 mln in other areas, in particular. Additionally, we invested almost UAH 352 mln in repairs in the four regions of Ukraine over the six months. Our goal is to provide customers with electricity in any circumstances,” — noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
Since the beginning of 2025, energy workers of DTEK Grids DSO continued investing in modernization of the grids. Overall, since the beginning of 2025, energy workers modernized 3 transformer substations and 4 distribution ones, built 7 new transformer points. Besides, in order to digitalize the distribution grids, DSO specialists replaced over 101,000 obsolete meters with the new “smart” ones. Distribution Systems Operators are doing it without extra fee, as part of the investment program, which is approved by the state regulator NEURC. It is an important stage in digitalization of the grids in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, as the customers get correct electricity metering without monthly submission of readings, while energy workers manage the grids more efficiently thanks to the analysis of the data received.
Scheduled repairs and investments in modernization of the grids are directed at improving reliability of power supply for the millions of customers in the capital and in the regions. Despite the full-scale war and constant threats of enemy attacks, DTEK Grids DSO continue systematic modernization and repair of the infrastructure.
