DTEK Grids DSO continue their fight for light: energy workers restored electricity to more than 430,000 homes in April

In April, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators managed to restore power supply to more than 430,000 homes of Ukrainians*, de-energized due to the attacks in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odesa and Kyiv regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv. Energy workers promptly repair the grids once they obtain permission from the AFU and SES.

Attacks on Ukraine continued in April, nevertheless, despite constant danger, energy workers kept working to repair grids and equipment both in the frontline and in the more distant regions of company’s presence. In particular, energy workers in the Donetsk region managed to restore electricity to 234,200 homes of local residents last month. Donetsk region remains an arena of the hardest battles. And though restoring power supply here becomes increasingly difficult and dangerous, energy workers continue to work once the situation and the military permit.

Dnipropetrovsk region suffers from enemy shelling more and more often too, especially the south of the region, which is close to the area of hostilities. In April, energy workers managed to restore electricity to homes of 194,800 families of local residents.

Odesa region also suffered from enemy attacks. In April, energy workers here restored power to 1,100 homes. During the same period of time, energy workers of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators restored electricity to homes of 1,200 families of residents of the Kyiv region and 808 residents of the city of Kyiv, who were also de-energized due to the strikes.

“Despite all security challenges, energy workers still continued repairing damage and providing residents with electricity in April. Our task is to provide residents and critical infrastructure with electricity as much as it is possible in the conditions of regular attacks. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have already restored electricity to 18.7* million families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the capital,”noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids

Company’s specialists continue to work together with AFU and SES in the regions of fiercest hostilities and restore operation of the grids immediately after obtaining permission from them.
