USEFUL. How to take electricity readings of a day/night meter correctly
DTEK serves the interests of Ukraine. For the convenience and safety of customers amid the pandemic, DTEK Dnipro Grids introduced user-friendly online services and remote communication channels. Now you can submit meter readings in several ways:
- A web form on the site, no registration needed. In the section, choose your district; indicate the number of your personal account, type of meter, and the proper readings;
- Your account. By entering the readings there, you will immediately see your consumption scope. Registration in your personal account is simple;
- Personal message on the DTEK Dnipro Grids Facebook page;
- Voice menu to submit the readings automatically. Call at +38 (056/066/067) 790-99-00 and press 2. Then follow the instructions to submit the reading successfully;
Readme: readings should be submitted on the last calendar day of the current month (but no later than the 3rd day of the next month) to ensure accurate electricity billing. If customers do not submit meter readings, the amount of consumed electricity is calculated based on the average monthly consumption.
How to read day/night meters:
The display of day/night meters shows the data sequentially: the amount of electricity used, date, device operation time, etc. To take readings, wait until the needed information appears on the display or press enter to switch data. Different types of meters have the different day/night display indices:
- For a GAMA type meter, the day readings will be displayed with the “1.8.1” index, and the night readings - “1.8.2”;
- Meter of a NiK brand displays day reading as "T11", and night as "T12";
- If you have an STK type meter, then E1 stands for day, and E2 stands for night;

If you still have questions about the meter, please, read the information on the All about electricity meters page. You can also find useful information about meters of various brands and their use in the Handbook about meters operation.
In 2020, 35,000 day/night meters were installed for the residents of Dnipro and the region for free. Now more than 270,000 customers have such smart meters, i.e. every fifth family. DTEK Dnipro Grids plans to install about 70,000 more such modern devices in 2021.
