Restoring service: over the course of a week, DTEK restored power to more than 24,000 customers in the Donetsk region

Last week, DTEK Donetsk Grids electricians managed to completely or partially restore power to 72 settlements in the Donetsk region, despite resumption of hostilities in the region. Overall, energy workers restored service to homes of 24,252 families.

Yesterday, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and restoration crews have also restored service to 1,669 families in 8 settlements in Pokrovsk, Bakhmut and Kramatorsk districts of the Donetsk region.

Some settlements in the Donetsk region required restoration of power supply on multiple occasions due to constant shelling and damage of electrical equipment in the areas of active military activities.

As of now, residents of 207 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. Active hostilities are ongoing in the region. The most difficult situation is near Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Velyka Novosilka, where grids and substations are being constantly damaged due to active military activities. Company’s specialists are waiting for the permit from the Armed Forces in order to perform repair of lines.

Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 54 days in a row in order to promptly restore power to settlements in Donetsk region, affected by hostilities.

The company cooperates with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to access damaged sites. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.
