Services without barriers: there is a special service for people with hearing impairments on the DTEK Dnipro Grids website
DTEK Dnipro Grids adapts online services to the needs of the wide range of customers. Thus, people with hearing impairments can communicate live with a specialist of the company. They can ask questions, the solution of which requires an individual approach, and receive information about the company services. Currently, DTEK Dnipro Grids customers have already used this service more than 150 times.
“We are transforming our business in accordance with the New DTEK 2030 Strategy, based on ESG principles and business responsibility for achieving the sustainable development goals of the UN Global Compact. Implementing inclusive customer service approaches is an important step towards barrier-free services for people with disabilities. Therefore, we adapt our services so that they are convenient for all customers. This is in line with Sustainable Development Goal #16 Peace and Justice. We have made sure that our services are convenient for customers with hearing impairments. Using a special form on the website, people can receive an online video consultation in sign language,” says Andriy Tereschiuk, General Director for DTEK Dnipro Grids.

Hearing-impaired customer service online is in line the company's policy to create barrier-free customer spaces both physical and virtual. Renovating its own service centers, DTEK Dnipro Grids makes them convenient and accessible for customers with disabilities. Therefore, they are arranged with the needs of wheelchair users in mind. Today, 16 out of 27 centers are equipped with ramps. In addition, the central entrances of all Customer Service Centers are equipped with call buttons to help customers on wheelchairs or crutches.
