Severe weather in Donetsk Region. DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency crews restore power supply

A cyclone with rains and thunderstorms is still hitting Donetsk Region. Rough weather led to power outages. Over the day, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored power supply to 19 settlements, 56 power lines, 447 transformer substations that lost power because of severe weather.

Now the crews of DTEK Donetsk Grids are on full alert and are eliminating the consequences of accidents to restore power supply as quickly as possible to the following settlements:

  • The villages of Solene, Volkovo, Uspenovka, Novovasilyevka, Gruzskoe, Veseloye (formerly Selidovsky District), Veseloye (formerly Dobropolsky District), Ivanovka, Progress, Volchye, Evgenovka, Rog, Gnatovka, Novopavlovka, Dachinskoe, Novy Trud, Lesovka, Kotlyarevka, Bogitsdanovka, Troitsa, Petrovskoe in the Pokrovsky District;
  • The villages of Maryanka, Buzinovka, Mirnaya Dolina, Novoznamenovka, Ocheretino, Varvarovka, Andreevka, Malinovka, Tikhonovka, Pervomaryevka in the Kramatorsk District;
  • The villages of Volnoe Pole, Rovnopol, Novoselovka, Privolnoe in the Volnovakha District;
  • The villages of Oradovka, Nikolaevka, Opytnoye in the Bakhmut District;
  • The village of Azovskoe in the Mariupol District;

DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers and does everything to ensure that their homes always have electricity and thus comfort. 96 repair crews and 73 pieces of equipment are involved in emergency recovery work. The company's energy workers are making every effort to restore the power supply to the affected areas as soon as possible,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, CEO at DTEK Donetsk Grids.

Since the beginning of the week, DTEK Donetsk Grids have restored power supply to 28 settlements, 91 power lines, 660 transformer substations, that lost power after severe weather.

On June 16, rough weather is still hitting Donetsk Region. According to forecasters, thunderstorms, hail in some areas and squalls of 15-20 m/s (1 hazard level, yellow) are expected.

DTEK Donetsk Grids reminds of the need to observe electrical safety rules:

  • In case of strong wind, you should not be near power lines;
  • Do not approach the broken wire closer than 8-12 meters and in no case touch it;
