Restoring electricity: DTEK continues to restore power to the Donetsk region

The situation in the Donetsk region remains very difficult, especially in the north. Active hostilities are underway causing even larger damage to electrical equipment and lines. For example, yesterday after noon, over 300,000 residents of Kramatorsk and Bakhmut districts of the Donetsk region, including Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Druzhkivka, Bakhmut and Kostiantynivka were left without electricity due to damage of NPC Ukrenergo equipment by shelling. DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists together with Ukrenergo managed to arrange a transit to the north of the Donetsk region and restore electricity to more than 300,000 customers for the time of repair.

Moreover, DTEK Donetsk Grids energy workers have restored power to more than 2,000 families in Pokrovsk district, whose homes were also left without electricity due to hostilities.

We ask residents to treat power supply issues, created by hostilities, with understanding. Unfortunately, shelling of territories continues, causing damage to the infrastructure of the grids and shutdown of energy enterprises.

312 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity due to hostilities. The most difficult situation is near Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk, Bakhmut and Velyka Novosilka. Energy workers have to wait for the permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to commence repair.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 109 days in a row and together with all other services are doing everything possible to provide electricity to the homes of the region’s residents.
