Restoring electricity: DTEK restored power to 26,000 homes in the Donetsk region
On June 8, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews have completely or partially restored power to residents of 22 settlements. 15 of these settlements in Bakhmut, Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk districts were left without electricity due to invaders’ shelling on June 8.
During the day, electricity was restored to a total of 26,503 homes of the Donetsk region residents.
The situation with hostilities is currently getting worse in the north of the region, causing larger and larger damage to electrical equipment and power lines. We ask residents to treat possible power supply issues with understanding. Unfortunately, shelling of territories continues, frequently causing damage to the grids’ infrastructure and shutdown of energy enterprises.
As of June 9, 316 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult situation remains near Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk, Bakhmut and Velyka Novosilka. Energy workers are unable to perform repairs in most of these settlements and have to wait for the permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 106 days in a row and together with all other services are doing everything possible to provide electricity to the homes of the region’s residents.
