After russia’s attacks on the country’s energy system in 2022-2023, the importance of small independent power generation facilities increased tremendously. Every such new facility is a contribution to going through the difficult winter and transformation of the Ukrainian energy industry. DTEK Dnipro Grids helps create conditions in Ukraine for the growth in the number of such facilities and connects them to its grids.

“Despite the war and focus of all company’s efforts on restoration of equipment destroyed by the enemy, we continue our grids development projects, which will allow connecting and using green power generation facilities. In 2023, DTEK Dnipro Grids connected more than 360 solar power plants in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a total capacity of almost 34 MW. This is our contribution to the implementation of the government plan for the Ukrainian energy industry transformation, building reliable, flexible and efficient infrastructure of the grids and creation of favorable environment for development of prosumers*,” - underscored DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO Andrii Tereshchuk

Since the beginning of business activity in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the company has already connected almost 7,500 green power generation facilities (solar, wind, biogas and biomass power plants) with a total capacity of 878 MW to the grids. For instance, this capacity is enough to provide the entire Dnipro and three largest industrial cities – Kryvyi Rih, Kamianske and Pavlohrad – with electricity.
