44 educational institutions and 475 students: how DTEK Grids DSO train future energy workers

As of the beginning of 2026, 450 students were studying in the company, and 25 more future energy workers joined the program from the beginning of the year to the middle of August. Additionally, one more college from the Kyiv region joined the partner network in 2026 bringing the total number of educational institutions-partners to 44.

An important performance indicator for the program is employment of the youth. After completion of study, 52% of students on average stay to work at the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators.

“For DTEK Grids DSO, dual education is a strategic investment in the future of Ukrainian energy industry. Today, students gain fundamental knowledge through practical training in order to work on restoration of the energy infrastructure, modernization, and expansion of the Ukrainian grids in the coming years. It is important that for the youth, dual education is a gateway to further successful employment and career development,” – noted DTEK Grids CEO Alina Bondarenko.

Dual education model provides for combining 40% of theoretical learning and 60% of practical training. Such approach helps students gain real work experience in the energy industry, familiarizing themselves with advanced equipment and industrial processes as early as during the study. For DTEK Grids, this is an opportunity to form a talent pool and improve the team with young specialists, who already know the specifics of working in the company and are ready to quickly engage in working processes.

Today, dual education remains one of the key tools for preparation of future energy workers to working at the DTEK Grids DSO. The company will further expand cooperation with educational institutions and create opportunities for the students to build careers in the energy industry as early as during their study.
