On December 20, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists continued working on repair of damages, caused by the abnormal weather conditions in the Donetsk region. Energy workers restored power to 16 settlements, thus restoring electricity to 12,803 families.

Unfortunately, power outages keep adding, though they are not as large-scale as before. This slows down the pace of works too. The works are also complicated by difficult access to the fields due to the thaw. Nevertheless, we continue eliminating consequences of bad weather.

In order to facilitate the works we did not just ask for help from crews of colleagues from friendly companies, but also relocate our crews from the regions, where consequences of bad weather are almost eliminated to the regions, where the situation is more difficult.

Shelling is ongoing in the Donetsk region, complicating performance of restoration activities. According to the General Staff, dozens of occupants’ attacks have been repelled at Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions yesterday.

Shelling in the Donetsk region constantly damages grids and equipment. Specialists of the energy company do not always have access to the work sites due to the security situation in the region. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 666 days in a row and repair equipment and lines once it becomes possible.
