DTEK Dnipro Grids invests over 1 billion hryvnas in upgrade of the grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region

DTEK Dnipro Grids continues to create the infrastructure for rebuilding of Ukraine and recovery of the economy. In 2024, overall volume of the investment program will be approximately 1.1 billion hryvnas. Thanks to the reconstruction of lines and substations, modernization of primary junctions and equipment, we will minimize emergencies and ensure stable operation of the grid in the Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly in the districts with power shortage,”underscored Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO at DTEK Dnipro Grids.

This year they will begin reconstruction of a substation in Dnipro that powers 7,500 customers in “Nahorka” and districts adjacent to the center of the city, particularly municipal water service company and electrical transport enterprises. Energy workers will replace one of three transformers that worked for 55 years. New equipment is made of sophisticated materials and is more efficient, thus it will provide families with more reliable power supply.

Large-scale upgrades await the junction substation in the actively growing left-bank part of the city. In 2024, energy workers will perform reconstruction at the power facility with division by sections in order to use the installed transformers more efficiently. This will allow to mitigate risks of emergencies for more than 15,000 families and industrial enterprises of the city. And it will create a power reserve for connection of new customers.

This year the energy company will continue its project in the field of digitalization related to implementation of an automated dispatch control system SCADA. It helps dispatchers see the entire energy system of the region online, monitor its operating mode and better assess a critical situation or an emergency. In case of emergencies, SCADA will automatically send a message to the chatbot and website about power outage and restoration, so you will find out about it in a matter of seconds. This system is a part of development of Smart Grids that should ensure uninterrupted power supply.

DTEK Dnipro Grids makes every effort to ensure reliable and quality power supply to Ukrainians. As this is an opportunity to live a normal life, stay in touch with relatives and support the country in the difficult conditions of martial law.
