The Energy Community Secretariat has provided DTEK Dnipro Grids with two advanced truck-mounted aerial platforms and sets of unique protective equipment for safe performance of live line works. A new batch of humanitarian aid will help energy workers perform repairs faster and more efficiently during the autumn-winter period.

Obtained Renault Trucks-based aerial platforms are fully equipped for work on the 6-20 kV medium voltage overhead lines and are already in use in various districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Each special vehicle provides an opportunity to perform works at an elevation of up to 18 meters and has good cross-country ability, which is especially important for working outside towns and villages in difficult weather conditions.

In addition to the machinery, energy workers of the Dnipropetrovsk region received two sets of protective equipment for performance of repairs without de-energization of customers. DTEK Dnipro Grids became one of the first energy companies in Ukraine to receive such equipment.

Each set includes PPE, insulation tools and other auxiliary devices. A dielectric coating, used for its fabrication, withstands high-voltage load and protects the staff.

“This equipment changes our capabilities: after completing corresponding training, our specialists will be able to perform live line works for the significantly larger number of customers and do it in a safer manner. We thank our international partners for their trust and help in development of the Ukrainian energy industry,” — stressed DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO Andrii Tereshchuk.

As reported, since the beginning of the year energy workers in the Dnipropetrovsk region conducted almost 24,000 repairs in the 0.4 kV distribution grids without disconnecting power supply for the customers and continue to expand the list of works to upscale this approach in the future.
