DTEK Donetsk Grids continues repairs of the grids: electricity restored to almost 29,000 families
Restorations caused by abnormal bad weather were underway in the Donetsk region yesterday. Energy workers do not stop repairing the grids, damaged by trees and ice. Power has been restored to 15 settlements, thus restoring electricity to 4,800 families, whose homes were de-energized due to bad weather.
Energy workers are working almost round-the-clock; however, it is not always possible to promptly restore electricity in every settlement. Sometimes, removal of broken trees takes too much time. Sometimes, the damage is complicated. For example, there are lines, where a lot of poles collapsed and its restoration requires time.
Shelling remains an obstacle, mud adds to the complications too, as cars and people get stuck in it. Crews of our colleagues continue helping us in restorations. Besides, we also relocate our crews from the regions, where works are completed or almost completed to the regions, where the situation is more difficult.
Hostilities are ongoing in the Donetsk region too. Yesterday, energy workers, with the permission of the military, managed to restore power to 18 settlements, de-energized due to constant shelling of the region, thus restoring electricity to homes of 23,000 families.
Shelling in the Donetsk region constantly damages grids and equipment. Specialists of the energy company do not always have access to the work sites due to the security situation in the region. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 667 days in a row and repair equipment and lines once it becomes possible.
