DTEK Donetsk Grids received four car lifts for repair of the grids after shelling within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund

DTEK Donetsk Grids received four new car lifts within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, established at the initiative of the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. A sophisticated special machinery will make it possible to faster repair the grids, damaged by enemy shelling, and restore electricity to residents of the frontline Donetsk region.

DTEK Donetsk Grids repair crews will be able to use new 18-meter aerial platforms in the cross-country conditions thanks to their maneuverability and off-road capabilities. Therefore, such special machinery, received as an aid, will allow energy workers to faster repair the grids, frequently damaged by constant shelling. Every day, hostilities damage dozens of distribution grids’ lines and 3-5 high-voltage lines on the controlled territory of the Donetsk region. Company’s vehicles are being constantly damaged as well.

“We are grateful to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Energy Community Secretariat for the provided aid. Car lifts are among our most frequently used special vehicles. The received special machinery will allow electricians to faster conduct works at height. This is the type of works that the energy workers mostly carry out on the overhead lines, which are being damaged most often. Therefore, DTEK Donetsk Grids received the best opportunities for restoration of electricity to the homes of residents of the region after enemy attacks,” – the company commented.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, energy workers of DTEK Donetsk Grids have already restored electricity to homes of 7.6 mln* families, damaged due to hostilities. To 199,000 families in April alone. However, shelling of the region is ongoing and equipment continues to suffer damage again and again. The company requires further international support to repair all damaged power facilities.
