DTEK Kyiv Grids completed relocation of the overhead lines underground in the construction zone for the metro to the Vynohradar residential district of the capital. Cabling of the high-voltage lines is an advanced girds installation technology, used by leading European Distribution Systems Operators. It helped energy workers of the capital to ensure uninterrupted and safe construction of the tunnel and the new metropolitan station.

One of the components for construction of metro to the Vynohradar residential district of the capital was relocation of numerous engineering utility networks on the path of metro tunnel constructionIncluding, overhead high-voltage lineswhich prevented performance of construction activities and required relocation.

Our specialists relocated the lines underground in monthsThey are no longer an obstacle to metro builders carrying out their work related to construction of metro tunnels to VynohradarWe support development of the capital’s transport infrastructurewhich makes the capital more convenient and comfortable for its residents, – noted DTEK Kyiv Grids CEO Denys Bondar.

Overallfour high-voltage lines of 110,000 volts and up to 670 meters long were relocated undergroundThey were laid above the site of future tunnel and station in a special protection – polyethylene pipesmetal casings and reinforced concrete ductsThis will ensure durability and additional safety of the lines.

Additionally, energy workers installed poles of new typeThe poles have a modern designBesidesthey are more compact and occupy less space.

Project implementation was complicated by various pipelinesutility collectors and heating mains concentrated in the place of the new high-voltage cable line installation.

As previously informed, DTEK Kyiv Grids invested almost UAH 140 mln in upgrades and current repairs of the capital’s power facilities in 2025. By the end of the year, the sum of investments in upgrade and renewal will amount to more than UAH 900 mlnThereforethe company’s contribution to maintaining and developing the city’s grids this year will amount to a total of over UAH bln.
