DTEK Kyiv Grids relocated the overhead high-voltage grids for construction of the metro to Vynohradar
One of the components for construction of metro to the Vynohradar residential district of the capital was relocation of numerous engineering utility networks on the path of metro tunnel construction. Including, overhead high-voltage lines, which prevented performance of construction activities and required relocation.
“Our specialists relocated the lines underground in 7 months. They are no longer an obstacle to metro builders carrying out their work related to construction of metro tunnels to Vynohradar. We support development of the capital’s transport infrastructure, which makes the capital more convenient and comfortable for its residents,” – noted DTEK Kyiv Grids CEO Denys Bondar.

Overall, four high-voltage lines of 110,000 volts and up to 670 meters long were relocated underground. They were laid above the site of future tunnel and station in a special protection – polyethylene pipes, metal casings and reinforced concrete ducts. This will ensure durability and additional safety of the lines.
Additionally, energy workers installed 3 poles of new type. The poles have a modern design. Besides, they are more compact and occupy less space.
Project implementation was complicated by various pipelines, utility collectors and heating mains concentrated in the place of the new high-voltage cable line installation.
As previously informed, DTEK Kyiv Grids invested almost UAH 140 mln in upgrades and current repairs of the capital’s power facilities in 2025. By the end of the year, the sum of investments in upgrade and renewal will amount to more than UAH 900 mln. Therefore, the company’s contribution to maintaining and developing the city’s grids this year will amount to a total of over UAH 1 bln.
