The Energy Community has provided DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids with 10 advanced truck-mounted aerial platforms and unique sets of protective equipment for safe performance of live line works. A new batch of humanitarian aid will allow energy workers to perform repairs faster in the new autumn-winter period.

The received Renault Trucks-based aerial platforms are fully equipped for work on the overhead power lines and are already used in various districts of the Kyiv region. Each special vehicle allows to perform works at the elevation of up to 18 meters and has a good cross-country ability, which is especially important when working in the country and in difficult weather conditions.

In addition to the machinery, energy workers of the Kyiv region received 10 sets of protective equipment for live line works performance. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids became the first energy company to have such equipment.

Each set includes PPE, insulation tools and appliances, as well as other auxiliary equipment. A dielectric coating is used during its fabrication, making it possible to withstand high-voltage load and protect the staff.

“We are truly grateful to our international partners for their support of the Ukrainian energy industry and for caring about safety of our specialists. This equipment is a new level for us. When our energy workers complete training on using the new tools, they will be able to perform live line works for the larger number of customers,” — noted Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

In the first half of 2025, DSO repaired 611 power facilities, 1,800 km of the overhead power lines and 405 cable lines.
