DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues to reinforce the grids: 1,300 kilometers of lines repaired and 253 power facilities upgraded in 2023

Even during the full-scale war, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues to increase capacity of equipment and its reliability in order to ensure electricity supply to the residents of the Kyiv region. In 2023, energy workers conducted repairs of 1,300 kilometers of overhead lines, restored 995 cable lines, repaired and reconstructed 253 power facilities. All these works made it possible to prepare the infrastructure of the Kyiv region for going through the cold season and make operation of the energy system more resistant to enemy attacks.

Every year, during scheduled repairs, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids eliminates defects of the grid, checks serviceability, performs repair and maintenance of equipment. In 2023, specialists repaired 8 high-voltage substations, 217 distribution and transformer points and 316 circuit breakers. Cleared almost 5,000 km of routes underneath power lines from shrubs in order to reduce the risk of emergencies during bad weather. 

Additionally, within its investment program, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reconstructed 18 high-voltage substations and built 10 discharge transformer substations. These works improved quality and reliability of power supply to more than 106,000 families in the Kyiv region.

In 2023, we have been systematically preparing our grids, reinforcing it, whenever needed, repairing, replacing equipment in order to be prepared for any situations. Performed works allow us to stably provide the region with electricity and faster restore power supply after enemy shelling by reinforcing and repairing the grids, in particular,” – noted Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.
