From now on, young footballers will be able to learn playing the game free of charge under supervision of coaches, who work in accordance with “Shakhtar” methodology.

“The “Go, play!” Social Initiative” is one more way to support normal life of Ukrainian children. Football is the game that unites Ukraine with the world. We want children in Ukraine to have a place, where they can go in for sport, communicate and spend time together in an active manner,” — noted DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids CEO Vitalii Shaida.

20 children have already started training in Bilohorodka, ant recruitment is ongoing.

“I thank DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids and Shakhtar Social for helping organize a football section for our children. The game of football is the most favorite and the most popular sport in our community. Therefore, I am sure that little pupils and their parents will enjoy this initiative and the group will become larger,” noted Bilohorodka village council chair Anton Ovsiienko during the launch of the project.

The very first training took place on the day of launching the “Go, play!” project. It was conducted by a well-known football player of FC Shakhtar Andrii Vorobei. Young players also received souvenirs and autographs of the football club’s star.

“Go, play!” is a unique social project. And I am not exaggerating, when I say so. First, it is the largest social project related to football in Ukraine — we have over 1,500 children training with us. Second, this is larger than sport. We always try to create additional opportunities for the children that are training with us: conducting family days, arranging meetings with players and legends of FC Shakhtar, visits to the matches and summer camps for the children to enjoy the benefits of participating in the project as much as possible. And what is most important — to feel joy, happiness and support. We, in our turn, are grateful to our partners from DTEK for the many years of supporting the project,” underscored Shakhtar Social Director Inna Khmyzova.

For over six years, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids and Shakhtar Social have been supporting the “Go, play!” project and encouraging children of 7-12 years to live a healthy lifestyle and play football. The purpose of the project is socializing and supporting children via sport. The project commenced in 2018, and today it has 30 football sections in 29 settlements of the country.
