DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids completed main stages of preparation for the 2024-2025 AWP
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids CEO Vitalii Shaida informed about it during a press-briefing. He noted that despite difficult conditions, the company implements all required measures to improve reliability of power supply in the region. Headed by the regional government, all services are preparing the infrastructure for all possible challenges in order to ensure that residents of the region have access to the essential services, as well as electricity and heating.
“Despite all difficulties, we are preparing the grids in the Kyiv region for winter. We have already upgraded 1,600 power facilities – substations, transformers, repaired 209 circuit breakers that failed most often due to application of constant shutdowns this spring and summer, repaired and tested 10,077 kilometers of power lines and cleared 3,115 kilometers of lines from shrubs. DTEK was a reliable support of Ukrainians during the last autumn-winter period and is now doing everything possible to go through this winter, too,” – noted Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.
By the end of the year, Distribution System Operator will upgrade 130 more power facilities, repair 800 kilometers of lines and clear 1,035 kilometers of the overhead routes along power lines from the shrubs.
According to the head of the company, there is currently no shortage of generating capacities in the country. However, the vulnerability of the energy system is extremely high, including in the Kyiv region, due to constant massive attacks.
In case of the worst-case scenario, the company developed schedules of shutdowns. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids has a renewed shutdown schedules notification system, which makes it possible for the customers to better plan their day. It can be used by the residents of the region to check their schedules for the next day the night before. Just like before, the schedule is estimated based on Ukrenergo commands related to limitation of power supply by lines during the day. The daily schedule is available in our Viber and Telegram chatbot, and on the website. The weekly schedule will be constantly available in the section “No electricity” on the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids website.
In addition, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reminds its customers that in order to obtain reliable information about condition of the region’s grids, emergency power outages and time required for electricity restoration one should use official company’s channels only: website, Facebook page, call center.
