DTEK Odesa Grids completed main items of the repair program to stably go through the winter
Energy workers are systematically preparing the grids for winter. Since the beginning of 2025, specialists have already repaired over 2,000 km of the overhead lines, 1,000 items of cable lines, replaced almost 600 poles and carried out major overhaul of 676 power facilities. In order to prevent power outages due to bad weather, energy workers have also cleared 1,800 km of the overhead lines from tree branches and drywood. Equipment repairs and modernization allow improving stability of the grid, reducing number of emergencies during bad weather in particular.
“Energy workers are preparing the grids for winter throughout the year. Over the first nine months, we have already spent more than UAH 140 mln on implementation of the repair program. The total sum of investments this year amounts to UAH 210 mln. We are doing everything possible to ensure stable power supply in winter, providing there will be no new enemy attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure,” – commented Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO at DTEK Odesa Grids.
By the end of the year, specialists plan to repair another 135 km of the overhead lines, perform major overhaul of 191 power facilities and clear 518 km of the overhead line routes from branches and drywood.
In addition, to prepare for the winter period as efficiently as possible, the company urges housing service organizations – municipal housing offices, condominium associations, housing cooperatives, and managing companies – to check the condition and perform maintenance of their in-building electrical networks and eliminate possible malfunctions in time. After all, the statistics shows that an average of 30% of emergencies happen in the in-building or adjacent networks, which are not maintained by the Distribution System Operator.
As informed earlier, DTEK Odesa Grids has already invested over UAH 764 mln in renewal and modernization of the energy infrastructure of the Odesa region in 2025 within the framework of its own investment program. Additionally, an emergency stock of materials and equipment worth over UAH 100 mln was formed to promptly react to any emergency.
