DTEK brings back light: energy workers in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions restored electricity supply to almost 120,000 families
Stepping-up of hostilities in the Donetsk region causes constant damages of grids and equipment. Last week, energy workers managed to restore electricity to more than 103,000 homes in 211 settlements, affected by regular shelling of the region.
The south of the Dnipropetrovsk region constantly suffers from regular shelling too. During the same period of time, here power supply has been restored to 12,100 residents in 12 settlements.
Air strikes damage grids in the Odesa region as well. In particular, grids facilities were damaged by a strike last week that left almost 4,000 families without electricity. Within a few hours, energy workers have energized all customers via the backup lines and started repairing the grids immediately after receiving permission from the AFU and SES. Electricity has now been restored to all customers affected by shelling.
“For 671 days energy workers have been holding the energy front and providing Ukrainians with electricity in conditions of increased risks. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have restored electricity to 9.8 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
