DTEK brings back light: electricity has been restored to homes of almost 95,000 families in Donetsk, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions over the course of a week

Over the past week (March 6 through 12), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to almost 95,000 families in 77 settlements, left without power supply due to shelling in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids, destroyed by the enemy, immediately after obtaining permission from the AFU and SES.

The country’s energy system continues to suffer from enemy attacks. Mostly in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, where regular enemy shelling continues, causing damage to the grids and leaving residents without electricity. Over the course of a week (March 6 through 12), specialists of the Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids for 42,000 families in Donetsk and almost 43,000 families in Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The damaged grids had to be repaired in the Odesa region as well last week. Facilities that supply electricity to 9,000 families in the Odesa region have been restored. There are currently no electricity consumption limits or grid limitations in the region. Therefore, there is no need to apply power shutdowns.

“Energy workers continue to hold the energy front and restore electricity in the regions, where regular enemy attacks take place. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion on February 24 last year, energy workers have already restored power to 7.2 mln* customers. Due to constant shelling, electricity had to be restored to some buildings on dozens of occasions over the course of a year,” – noted DTEK Grids CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.

Energy workers are doing everything possible to repair damages as soon as possible and commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
