DTEK brings back light: energy workers have restored electricity supply to almost 54,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions over the course of a week
Regular enemy attacks continue in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, causing damage to the grids and leaving residents without electricity. Over the course of a week (February 13 through 19), specialists of the Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids for almost 52,000 families in Donetsk and more than 2,000 families in Dnipropetrovsk regions.
“Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion on February 24 last year, energy workers have already restored power to 7 mln customers. For almost a year, our specialists are working in conditions of increased danger and are repairing grids, destroyed due to the enemy attacks. Energy workers commence repairs immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES,” – noted DTEK Grids CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.
As of February 20, the situation in the Odesa region has slightly improved. On February 9, power shutdown schedules were launched in the Odesa region in test mode. DTEK managed to ensure electricity for 100% customers in the guaranteed hours.
