DTEK continues restoration activities in the Donetsk region: electricity was restored to more than 12,000 families

Over the course of a day, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists have restored power to 14 settlements, left without electricity due to shelling. Energy workers have to restore electricity to some of them almost every day – as soon as shelling subsides and the military permit. Power was restored to more than 12,000 families.

On August 2, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews have completely or partially restored power to homes of residents of 14 settlements in the Donetsk region that suffer from consequences of active hostilities every day, thus restoring electricity to 12,428 families in Bakhmut, Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk districts.

Most of the households were energized in the Toretsk community, where works are ongoing almost every day, as soon as the situation permits. Electricity was restored to 5,100 families here. Energy workers managed to perform works in other communities that suffer from constant and massive shelling as well. For instance, electricity was restored to 4,500 households in Sloviansk community. Some work was also carried out in Avdiivka and Bakhmut communities, where, according to the information from the head of the Donetsk region Pavlo Kyrylenko, the most active hostilities are underway. Specialists of the energy company were also working in Kostiantynivka and Marinka communities.

Continuous hostilities in the Donetsk region cause larger and larger damage to electrical infrastructure. 336 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult directions are Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region immediately after obtaining a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
