Dual education at DTEK Dnipro Grids: 116 students chose their path in the energy industry

In the first half of 2025, DTEK Dnipro Grids continues to actively expand the dual education program, which combines theoretical study and practical training at the enterprise. 114 students took part in the program since its launch in 2018, with two more joining it in the first half of 2025. The total number of participants currently stands at 116 people. The partner network remains the same – it includes 9 educational establishments of the Dnipropetrovsk region (3 universities and 6 colleges).

“In accordance with the dual education program, students study at the educational institution for 60% of time, spending the rest of the time undergoing practical training directly at the enterprise. During the entire period, we provide them with salary and full social package medical insurance, vacation, sick leave. Young people acquire real professional skills, get familiar with advanced equipment and technologies, while we get motivated employees, who already understand the specifics of work. This is real investment in the future of the energy industry of Ukraine,” — noted DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO Andrii Tereshchuk.

In the first half of 2025, the company also held a series of joint events with educational establishments. In particular, energy workers visited NTUDnipro Polytechnicand other specialized higher education institutions and colleges of the region, where they introduced students to the company’s activities, its contribution to the industry development and career opportunities for young people. In addition, students were invited for an excursion to the DTEK Dnipro Grids personnel training center. There, they saw modern equipment that the energy workers operate, got familiar with conditions of the practical training and tried to train with VR goggles that simulate real operational situations. This provided them with an opportunity to feel like energy workers and dive into the specifics of the profession. Such meetings help young specialists better understand the selected specialty and decide on their future careers.
