Eco initiatives: DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues “green” transformation

In the first half of 2025, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continued systematic implementation of eco initiatives, directed at reducing environmental impact, improving energy efficiency and preserving biodiversity. Additionally, the company will undergo the second supervisory audit in compliance with ISO 14001 in December 2025.
Eco initiatives: DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues “green” transformation

In January-June, the company handed over more than 72 tons of waste for recycling: 60 tons of scrap metal, 33 tons of tires, 45 tons of reinforced concrete poles and 1.7 tons of accumulator batteries. An initiative for separate collection of waste continues at the enterprise nearly 350 containers have already been installed in the Kyiv region, 16 more will be installed by the end of the year. 

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues to support the international project “Precious Plastic”. Over the course of four years, energy workers collected a total of 185 kg of plastic and handed it over for recycling. Another batch is to be handed over by September 2025. 

As part of the environmental and educational project #EnergyWings, energy workers relocated 12 stork nests to safe reinforced platforms 

In April, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids supported the World Digital Cleanup Day. This initiative helped clear 674 GB of digital trash, thus making it possible to save 337 kWh of electricity and reduce CO₂ emission by 169 kg. 

Employees of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids implemented a number of environmental and social initiatives, which became an example of corporate responsibility and internal unity. In particular, in March, employees of the company took part in an all-Ukrainian event within the framework of the president program “Green Country”. Energy workers, under the supervision of the forest crop specialists, planted nearly 1,000 one-year seedlings of Scots pine and oak in the Vyshhorod district. 

In December 2025, the company plans to undergo a second supervisory audit of the environmental management system in compliance with ISO 14001. During the inspection, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will present the established eco practices: separate collection of waste, installation of platforms for stork nests, transition to LED-lighting, participation in the project “Precious Plastic”, replacement of oil circuit breakers with the vacuum ones, personnel training on the matters of environmental protection and planting of greenery. All these steps are evidence of the systematic and responsible attitude of the company towards preserving the environment.
