Energy invincibility: DTEK energy workers in the Dnipropetrovsk region eliminated over 2,700 damages of lines since the beginning of the full-scale war
Since February 24, 2022, energy workers of the DTEK Dnipro Grids restored operation of a total of 1,396 power lines and 190 substations, transformer and distribution points in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This is almost 98% of all power facilities that suffered destruction due to russians’ criminal actions. The other 2% are impossible to repair yet due to the security situation and lack of required equipment.
“Our specialists are working despite the danger, repairing the grids after each enemy strike. Some power lines in the south of the Dnipropetrovsk region were repaired after shelling dozens of times. It is very exhausting and difficult. But every illuminated home, every operating hospital and kindergarten, every working business – this is our biggest motivation. Since the beginning of war, we restored electricity to more than 3.3 mln residents of the region**. And we are ready to continue, despite all difficulties, in order to ensure stability of the energy system,” – noted DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO Andrii Tereshchuk. .jpg)
Energy workers commence works on the damaged grids only upon permission of the military and SES. However, our enemy is insidious, and the crews may come under fire at any time anywhere. Last year alone, personnel in the Dnipropetrovsk region were shelled 32 times at the DTEK Dnipro Grids facilities. Unfortunately, on February 20, 2025, an employee of the company – auto crane operator Hennadii Musatov – was killed during restoration activities at one of the facilities in Nikopol.
