DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers are eliminating the aftermath of the hurricane: electricity has already been restored to more than 98,000 homes

Stormy wind that raged yesterday in the Dnipropetrovsk region caused large-scale falling of trees and broken power lines in the region. In the evening of April 26, bad weather caused complete de-energization of 295 settlements, and partial one of 170 more. 161,000 families in the region were left without electricity. The majority – in Nikopol, Samar, and Pavlohrad districts.

DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews worked all night to energize the gird as soon as possible. By Monday morning, energy workers managed to restore power to more than 98,000 customers. Which amounts to 60% of all outages. Specialists restored operation of almost 1,500 transformer substations and 100 power lines, thus restoring electricity to 242 settlements that were completely or partially de-energized.

As of now, more than 63,000 homes in 223 towns and villages of the region remain without power supply. Energy workers are doing everything they can to restore electricity to all consumers as soon as possible.

74 emergency crews have been engaged – 210 employees and 76 items of special machinery. Restoration activities will continue until power supply to all affected communities is fully restored.

Let us remind that strong gusts of wind may cause falling of trees and broken wires. Please be careful, follow safety rules and do not approach the power lines.
