Energy workers of DTEK Odesa Grids were awarded state and departmental honors for their work during the war
For their personal contribution to restoration of the grids after hostilities and ensuring operation of the energy system in the conditions of wartime, Vladyslav Shelestiuk, an engineer of the Izmail section of the relay protection maintenance center was awarded a state honor – valuable gift from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Oleksandr Berdyshev, head of the high-voltage metering operation division was awarded an departmental honor – Certificate of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and Yurii Fedorov, lead engineer of the Izmail Power Distribution Zone, was awarded with a Letter of Gratitude from the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
“These awards are a recognition of the daily work of the entire team, which restores electricity in the heat and rain, during severe weather conditions and after the strikes, to provide electricity to homes of millions of people. I am sincerely grateful for endurance, strength and heart, which you put in the work. We are proud of each and every one of you and it is nice that the state recognizes our work,” – underscored Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO at DTEK Odesa Grids.

Despite the full-scale war and strikes, energy workers are working as a single coordinated mechanism. After each enemy attack, they make titanic efforts to restore power supply to hospitals, boiler houses, water utility facilities and people’s homes as soon as possible.
“It always hurts to see destroyed equipment, as we put our efforts, health and soul in it. After an attack on the substation in May 2022, we worked at it day and night, without stops or breaks. The scale of work was colossal – all crews, services and centers were engaged. The work was in full swing. Locals did not believe that electricity will ever be restored. But with, without exaggeration, titanic efforts of the entire team, we managed to restore operation of equipment to the operating state and resume voltage supply in just 5 days. The most important in our work is to help each other and see light even in the darkest hours,” – added Yurii Fedorov, lead engineer of the Izmail Power Distribution Zone.
Let us remind that, in June 2025, 15 energy workers of DTEK Odesa Grids received departmental awards – certificates of gratitude from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine for participating in emergency and repair activities in the Kherson region and restoring electricity to the homes of almost two thousand families.
