DTEK Odesa Grids energy workers were awarded with certificates of appreciation for their help in eliminating consequences of bad weather in the Mykolaiv region

In January 2024, bad weather raged through the Mykolaiv region. Strong gusts of wind and snowdrifts caused falling of poles and breakdown of wires. As a result, almost 70,000 families in 200 settlements of the Mykolaiv region were left without electricity. DTEK Odesa Grids repair crews immediately answered the call for help from their Mykolaivoblenergo colleagues and for 9 days were doing everything possible to restore electricity to the people.

DTEK Odesa Grids is a foundation and support of normal life of the country and Ukrainians. Two of our crews have been working in the Mykolaiv region together with energy workers of Mykolaivoblenergo for nine days in a row, overtime and with no rest. As we understand the importance of having electricity at home to keep yourself warm, cook hot dish and be able to call your family. The scale of destructions impressed. Sometimes, our guys just had to build several kilometers of the grid from the scratchinstalling poles and pulling the wire, despite the frost and icy gusts of wind. Nevertheless, we succeeded. I thank colleagues for such a high recognition of our work. I am sure, unity is our power,” – commented Dmytro Hryhoriev, СEO at DTEK Odesa Grids

Thirteen energy workers, who took part in elimination of consequences of bad weather in the Mykolaiv region from January 8 to 18, 2024, were awarded certificates of appreciation from the Mykolaivoblenergo for prompt assistance, effective cooperation and high-class workmanship during performance of emergency and restoration activities. Additionally, Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration awarded Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO of the company, with an honorary decoration “Saint Nikolaos, the Wonderworker”, 3 class.

Besides certificates of appreciation, DTEK Odesa Grids energy workers received useful equipment from their colleagues, which will definitely come in handy at work.
