Preparing the Odesa region for the heat: energy workers repaired over 90 power facilities and 140 kilometers of the overhead lines
DTEK Odesa Grids specialists thoroughly monitor if equipment is operating correctly and if electricity is always available in the homes of residents of the Odesa region. Energy workers carry out inspections and diagnostics of equipment and power lines — in particular, using the thermal viewers, mobile electrical laboratories, analysis of technical fluids, etc. Based on the received data, they determine weak spots, where an emergency may occur.
“In order to ensure stable operation of the city energy infrastructure during the peak consumption periods, period of hot weather or the autumn-winter period in particular, DTEK Odesa Grids specialists thoroughly prepare it: carry out required scheduled repairs. Currently, we have already completed almost 25% of the activities, scheduled for 2025. In particular, we have repaired 91 power facilities and almost 140 kilometers of the overhead lines. In 2025, the company will invest over 200 million hryvnias in the repair program,” — commented Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO at DTEK Odesa Grids.
Overall, energy workers plan to upgrade 806 transformer substations and distribution points, repair 2,200 kilometers of the overhead lines, 370 transformers, 220 circuit breakers and 1,200 cable lines by the end of the year.
These activities will ensure reliable operation of equipment and minimize the risk of emergencies. Company’s specialists are doing everything possible to ensure that the customers are always with electricity.
As previously informed, despite the war and massive enemy attacks on the power facilities, residents of the Odesa region went through the heating season with electricity. This was achieved due to the systematic preparation for winter, automation of processes and coordinated work of DTEK Odesa Grids energy workers. The total sum of investments in repair and development of the grids amounts to almost UAH 1.3 bln.
