Number of emergencies in the Dnipropetrovsk region increased 6 times due to the schedules: energy workers ask residents of the region for help
Schedules of stabilization power shutdowns help energy workers stabilize the energy system of the country after enemy strikes on the power facilities and distribute the available electricity among everyone. At the same time, application of schedules causes an increase in equipment failure rate.
After restoration of the power supply, the largest load falls on the intra-house networks. If the network fails to withstand this starting peak, an emergency occurs and the residents are once again left without electricity.
To help the energy workers, we recommend the residents do the following:
- Disconnect energy-consuming appliances from the grid during the outages.
- After electricity is restored, wait for at least 30 minutes before turning on energy-consuming appliances (washing machines, boilers, electric stoves, electric heating, etc.).
- Do not turn on all appliances simultaneously – use it in turns.
Energy workers explain that the most frequent cause of emergencies in the multi-stories buildings is an uneven load distribution between power supply and phases. The load must be evenly distributed. Overloading one of the inputs or one of the phases triggers protections, thus switching off an entire section of the building. To reduce the risks, condominium associations, housing cooperatives and managing companies should inspect switchboards and internal networks, balance the load between power supply No.1 and power supply No.2, as well as across the phases in the building, maintain working order of the equipment and replace worn components. This allows to avoid up to 95% of the repeated shutdowns after restoration of power supply in accordance with the schedule.
These simple actions will help reduce the load on the grids at the moment of electricity restoration and protect residents from repeated emergencies.
