The youth chooses energy industry: 50 more students have joined the dual education program of the DTEK Grids DSO
For seven years, DTEK Grids DSO has been providing an opportunity to the youth to combine study in the higher educational establishments or colleges with practical training. The focus of the program lies in the practical application of knowledge. Students work at the power facilities under supervision of mentors: working with equipment, performing diagnostics and maintenance of substations and lines, participating in operational (online) switching.
Ihor Vovk, head of the HR department at DTEK Grids, notes: “Dual education is a long-term project for supporting youth and attracting it to the development of the energy sector of Ukraine. In 2025, we maintained a large share of employment and expanded opportunities for the youth at the DSO enterprises. During the study, students can officially work, receive salary and social package, as well as master the profession in practice based on their individual development plans.”
As of March 2026, 29 students are studying under the DSO dual education programs. Most of the program’s participants are studying under the specialty “Electric engineering”, while students of KAI — additionally under the specialty “Automation, computer-integrated technologies and robotics.”
The number of partner educational institutions has increased to 39. These are universities and colleges, with which DTEK Grids is building a long-term cooperation — from practical training to joint creation of study cases.
Besides dual education, in 2025 DTEK Grids launched an online course about the profession of energy worker on the Optima College platform and a study course in English about the energy industry, electrical appliances and safe consumption of electricity on Cambridge.ua.
In 2026, the company will continue offering job to the students, enhancing mentorship, improving safety of practical training and updating study materials. Information about participation in the program in Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipro is available at your educational institution curators.
