DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 17,000 families after bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region
On Thursday evening, a heavy downpour with thunderstorms and gusts of wind passed through Dnipropetrovsk region. Trees cut power lines causing power outage in some towns and districts. Dnipro, Pavlohrad, Kryvyi Rih and Kamianske districts were the most affected by bad weather.
Overnight, DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews managed to restore power to 17,000 families. Energy workers restored operation of more than 500 transformer substations and 46 power lines. Electricity has been restored to 107 settlements that were completely or partially without electricity.
As of 9:00 on August 11, another 5,200 families in 26 settlements of the region remain without electricity. 145 transformer substations and 20 power lines are out of order.
12 DTEK Dnipro Grids crews were engaged in prompt elimination of emergencies. Energy workers make every effort to restore electricity to every home as soon as possible.
Bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region remains. According to the forecasts of meteorologists, heavy rain is expected throughout August 11. Hail and gusts of wind up to 15-20 m/s are expected in some districts of the region.
Distribution System Operator reminds of the following safety rules during bad weather:
- avoid power lines during strong wind;
- do not approach bare wires and broken lines, and never touch them;
