The crew of DTEK Dnipro Grids was carrying out works on the overhead lines in the settlement, close to the frontline, when it was attacked by enemy drones. One of them hit the crew’s vehicle, setting it on fire. Fortunately, energy workers managed to take cover in time and did not get injured. They were evacuated by their colleagues once the security situation allowed.

The company works in accordance with the special works authorization procedure in order to keep its employees as safe as possible. Emergency crews commence grid repairs only after obtaining permission from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Additionally, energy workers are working in special hardhats and bullet-proof vests.

However, the enemy does not stop attacking the region, thus often leaving the emergency crew with no time to get to safety.

Nevertheless, energy workers of the Dnipropetrovsk region continue to work, often risking their lives to provide residents of the region with electricity. Last week, DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists restored power to more than 10,000 families, left without electricity due to enemy shelling. Electricity has been restored to 14 settlements that were completely or partially de-energized.
