DTEK Donetsk Grids energy workers once again came under fire during performance of works in the Donetsk region

A crew of DTEK Donetsk Grids energy workers was attacked by a drone during work performance. Fortunately, energy workers were not wounded, only a crew vehicle was damaged. Shelling is ongoing in the Donetsk region, constantly complicating the work of emergency and restoration crews. Nevertheless, specialists of the energy company continue to repair the grids once it becomes possible and restore electricity to the residents of the region.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists continue to work in the Donetsk region despite the increasing difficulty and danger of restoring electricity here. The enemy attacks the region on a daily basis. Energy workers’ crews come under fire more and more often. This time, specialists of the energy company were performing commutation at one of the power facilities to connect the power line, repaired after shelling. Suddenly, they heard the sound of the drone and an explosion occurred near the car, but the employees were not hurt: the driver managed to get out of the car before the explosion and hide in the nearest building together with his colleague. Although all that was left of the pair of wheels were the rims, fortunately, the car was still drivable, so energy workers went to the nearest settlement. There, colleagues helped to repair the vehicle.

The price of electricity in the Donetsk region is almost equal to the price of life. Nevertheless, we continue restoring power supply once the situation allows. Though the risks remain incredibly high», — the company notes.

Specialists of the energy company come under fire during work performance on a regular basis. Since the beginning of the year, two energy workers were wounded.

Specialists of the energy company commence work on the damaged grids only upon permission of the military and SES. However, our enemy is subtle, and the crews can come under fire at any time anywhere. Over more than three years of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Donetsk Grids restoration crews came under fire during repairs more than 200 times. 19 specialists of the energy company were wounded.
