On the way to the energy industry: 11 teenagers of the “Chance for Changes” Charity Fund visited DTEK Kyiv Grids
Representatives of the DTEK Kyiv Grids Training Centre told children how the electrical energy industry is arranged and what exactly the company does. Additionally, they conducted a tour of the active power facility.
In particular, the teenagers found out how and where the city gets the current and what happens to it on its way to the buildings. They saw a high-voltage transformer, a compact switchgear, and a power facility control board.
“Despite the difficult times of war, our company is open to the youth, who want to decide on future career path. We are ready to talk about ourselves and to show the enterprise, share our own experience. We do everything within our power to ensure that at least some of those who visit us for tours or internships become part of our team in the future,” – noted DTEK Kyiv Grids CEO Denys Bondar.
Upon completion of the introductory part, training was organized for the children. They had to apply joint efforts to complete trainers’ task – build a tower. Performing this task trains communication and efficient interaction skills.
“The “Chance for Changes” Fund deals with support and adaptation of teenagers with difficult childhood. We help children control their emotions, overcome fears, and socialize through psychological program, career-guidance, and mentorship. Thanks to visiting such enterprises children better understand their own occupational prospects and opportunities. Including, the enterprises like DTEK Kyiv Grids,” – noted head of the fund Oleksandr Lantukh.
Teenagers have also been told about the dual education program in force at the enterprise. It allows combining study of the energy-related specialty in the higher educational establishment and internship at DTEK Kyiv Grids. All while receiving salary and social package. And after completion of study – joining the team of the capital’s energy workers.
