On the way to the energy independence: DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids connected 5 green energy industrial facilities in 2024

One of the customers’ most popular Renewables’ industrial facilities are Solar Power Plants – over the past year, 2 SPPs contacted energy workers with connection requests. As for the total amount of added “green energy generation” in the Kyiv region, the specialists connected 5 facilities to the grids, including a bio plant and thermal power plant. 

“Increasing the share of Renewables is an improvement of the energy independence of the country and support of its sustainability in the conditions of war. We facilitate connection of Renewables’ facilities to the grids, improving sustainability of the energy system and reducing its vulnerability to the enemy terror. Small Renewables’ plants help provide electricity to the larger number of Ukrainians and minimize consequences of the energy crisis. Despite the war and primary efforts to restore damaged equipment, we continue modernization of the grids, as reliable infrastructure is a foundation for stable power supply of the region,” – underscored DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids CEO Vitalii Shaida. 

Additionally, 1,528 prosumers** were connected to the grids of the DTEK Grids DSO in 2024, which is twice more than in 2023. Since the start of business activities in the Kyiv region, a total of more than 5,000 green generation facilities were connected to the grids.
