On the way to the energy independence: DTEK Grids DSO connected 12 green energy industrial facilities in 2024

Over the past year, DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators connected 12 green energy facilities to their grids. Its capacity would have been enough to provide electricity to nearly 20,000 homes*. DSO strive to be reliable partners for businesses that plan to connect facilities (renewables) to the grid. As during the period of constant russia’s attacks on the energy infrastructure, renewables increase sustainability of the energy system and help maintain electricity in the homes of Ukrainians.
On the way to the energy independence: DTEK Grids DSO connected 12 green energy industrial facilities in 2024

The most popular Renewables’ industrial facility for the customers of DTEK Grids DSO is Solar Power Plantsover the past year, 8 SPPs contacted energy workers with connection requests. Dnipropetrovsk region holds the first place for the amount of addedgreen energy generation”, the specialists here connected 7 facilities to the grids, including the gas-turbine plant.

Increasing capacity of green energy generation is a support of the energy stability of the country in the conditions of war. By providing an opportunity to connect Renewablesfacilities to the grids, DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators make their contribution to resisting the enemy energy terror. Small Renewablesfacilities improve availability of electricity for the larger number of Ukrainians and reduce negative consequences of electricity shortage in the energy system. Despite the war and focusing of all our resources on restoration of damaged energy equipment, we continue grids modernization projects. A sophisticated sustainable energy infrastructure is a foundation for decentralization and reliable power supply of the regions, underscored DTEK Grids CEO Alina Bondarenko.

Additionally, 2,548 prosumers** connected to the grids of the DTEK Grids DSO in 2024, which is almost twice more than in 2023. The largest number of prosumers appeared in the Kyiv region — 1,526 facilities. Dnipropetrovsk region holds the second place for the amount ofgreen generation, connected by the customers, – 569 facilities. Residents of the Odesa region connected 464 SPPs. 81 Renewables’ facilities were added in the capital.

Since the start of DTEK activities in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk regions and in the city of Kyiv, a total of more than 19,000 green generation facilities were connected to the grids.
