A third more: DTEK Grids DSO installed 136,000 smart meters over six months

DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators (DSO) continue to expand an Automated Commercial Electricity Metering System (ACEMS), thus making it possible to track electricity consumption in real time. During the first half of 2026, specialists installed almost 136,000 smart meters in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, which is 37% more than during the same period last year.

Smart meters are a part of ACEMS. They automatically submit readings to the DSO, thus making the process of metering the consumed electricity easier and allowing energy workers to faster receive information about the state of the grid and analyse consumption. For the customers, installation of smart meters means less trouble with regular submission of readings and more accurate metering of consumed electricity.

The pace of Smart Meters installation keeps rising. During the first half of 2026, DTEK Grids DSO specialists installed 135,993 such devices – every third customer in the city of Kyiv and in Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions is already using smart meters.

ACEMS implementation is conducted within the framework of the investment program, which is approved annually by the state regulator NEURC. You can find out if a meter replacement in your house is planned this year on the website of your Distribution System Operator.

Installation of smart meters is a part of the “Grids of the Future” project on modernization of the energy infrastructure and implementation of Smart Grid technologies.
