DTEK Odesa Grids in cooperation with Odesa RMA, representatives of SES, State Energy Inspectorate and local authorities inspected critical infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region with regard to its readiness to operate from backup power sources in the event of limited power supply. This is required to develop an action plan to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the critical infrastructure facilities on the eve of a new heating season.
On the eve of winter, DTEK together with authorities and supervising bodies checked backup power supply of hospitals, boiler houses and water utilities in the Odesa region

50 critical infrastructure facilities were inspected, particularly hospitals, boiler houses, water supply and drainage facilities throughout Odesa region.

“DTEK Odesa Grids is a foundation and support for normal life of the country and Ukrainians. Especially now, during the war. Previous winter showed that we must be ready for any challenges. Therefore, energy workers, in cooperation with authorities, put maximum effort to provide electricity to hospitals, boiler houses, water utilities, etc. in the event of a threat to functioning of the energy system and limited power supply,” – noted the company.

Based on the results of the check, the commission noted that full transition of critical infrastructure facilities of the Odesa region to the backup power sources requires from 3 to 40 minutes. Institutions, where shortcomings were discovered during test re-energization were given recommendations to eliminate them. They must fulfil them before the start of the heating period.

Let us remind that DTEK Odesa Grids is preparing the grids for winter and over the course of eight months has upgraded 62 power facilities in Izmail and Bolgrad districts in order to improve reliability of power supply during the heating season.
