“We understand how hard it can be without electricity. However, due to constantly increasing shortage and consumption of electricity we can no longer live under old schedules. NPC Ukrenergo gives commands that require simultaneous power shutdown in every region for 2 to 4 groups of consumers. It was impossible with the previous 4/4 schedule. We would not be able to follow it. And the grids would have been overloaded, possibly causing numerous emergencies,” – noted CEO of the Dnipropetrovsk region’s DSO.

In accordance with the updated schedule:

  • grey zone lasting 4 hours – electricity is definitely absent during this period,
  • white zone lasting 2 hours – electricity is definitely present,
  • new light grey zone lasting 3 hours – shutdown is possible during this period. If there is no electricity during the light-grey zone – this is also a scheduled shutdown. Electricity will be restored in the white zone.

According to Andrii Tereshchuk, all customers in the Dnipropetrovsk region are split into 6 groups. In order to promote social justice, shutdowns are carried out in turns.

Last week, all groups were disconnected evenly: each one had about the same number of hours without electricity an average of 12.7 hours per day. Such approach will be further maintained,” – underscored the head of the company.

He stressed that a team of specialists continues to constantly work on shutdown schedules to make them fair and efficient as much as it is possible under conditions of shortage due to the destructions, caused by shelling. In particular, together with local authorities they conduct technical work related to optimization of the critical infrastructure power supply scheme in order to create new electricity supply scheme for residential buildings, wherever possible. This allows minimizing the situation when one building lives in accordance with the shutdown schedule, while the other one – is never de-energized, as it shares the line with critical infrastructure.
