The emergency stock is formed in advance based on the risks of bad weather, expected load on the grid and experience of previous years.

In particular, DTEK Grids DSO purchased almost 107,000 items of components, poles, consumables, as well as 56 current and voltage transformers and over 37 km of cables, required for prompt replacement of damaged elements of the grid of all voltage categories.

We are constantly providing our emergency crews with everything needed for quick repair of the grids in the event of damage. Prior to the heating season, energy workers have a basic safety margin. Since the beginning of 2025, DSO have already purchased equipment and materials worth almost 168 mln hryvnias. By the end of the year, we plan to replenish the emergency stock for another 18 mln hryvnias based on the weather needs, explained DTEK Grids CEO Alina Bondarenko.

DTEK Grids Distribution Systems Operators continue to prepare the grids for the peak loads on a daily basis, coordinate logistics of materials release and carry out additional briefings for emergency and restoration crews as part of preparation for winter.
